Artwork Sales
The Love Unlimited Film Festival & Art Exhibition is a not-for-profit event and we do not take a commission from artists who negotiate the sale of their own work.
Jury & Selection Process
The Jurors evaluate the four images of the Artist’s work as a body of work and an Artist Statement. A booth image is optional and never required. The Jurors score artists on a scale of 1 (lowest) to 7 (highest). We do not use a 4 and each Juror gives a score of the combined points. Artists living in states where Love Unlimited has, had or plans to take place in the future (AK, WA, CA, OR, TX and IL) will receive one bonus point in the selection process. The number of applicants for each category will help determine the number of Artists accepted in each category. The Artists scoring highest are invited to participate in the Art Exhibition of the Love Unlimited Film Festival & Art Exhibition, the Fifth Annual International Event & Experience. The Jury Selections are final. Each medium will also have a Wait List. Love Unlimited also accepts by invitation outstanding international, national and local established and emerging or youth artists, jurors and award winners from prior years. Nevertheless, everyone is required to submit a completed application for consideration.
Open to all artists worldwide with any form of artwork within the following mediums:
*If applying to the Functional Medium (which includes, but is not limited to, nonmanufactured clothing) or the Jewelry Medium or another medium that may include several pieces of jewelry: please note: Love Unlimited will host a Runway Fashion/Functional Art and live model jewelry show and provide models of different genders and backgrounds at no extra charge with signed model release forms to enable professional photographs of this amazing event. Past professional models have included local professional models such as Kacie Flowers and British Model Maria Del Carmen, as seen in the photos and video on the Love Unlimited Film Festival & Art Exhibition website.
**Photographers: Please Note, Love Unlimited Film Festival & Art Exhibition takes place during the Inaugural Month of Photography Los Angeles (MOPLA)* in April 2013, showcasing the enormous photography community, inclusive of fine art and much more. We encourage you to plan your networking schedules to take advantage of this timing when travelling from out of state or out of the country. Los Angeles is the second largest photography community in the U.S.A.
Exhibitor Standards
Unacceptable work includes flower arrangements, groups, bouquets or wreaths and craft made from kits or unoriginal designs. In addition, the following types of jewelry are not permitted: Enamels on manufactured representational copper shapes, cut coin jewelry, jewelry made of manufactured components and commercial beads. Beads must be made by the artist (two exceptions to this rule are: If the beads are not made by the artist, they must play a subordinate role in the final piece; and the requirement that beads must be made by the artist does not apply in the 'bead weaving technique,' however, commercial bead weaving kits are not permitted). Also not permitted are stud earrings in commercial settings and pearls (whether in necklaces or bracelets unless they have a handmade ornament and/or fastener that is an intricate, focal point of the piece). The following types of clothing are not permitted: Tshirts, sweat shirts, hats, and other commercially manufactured clothes, no matter how embellished by the artist, anything made in a commercial mold, in any medium, manufactured belt buckles. Dough art, CDs, tapes, food and edible art are not permitted.
Age Eligibility:
Artists must be 18 years of age or older. Artists under the age of 18 may submit art only if a parent or guardian submits the work on their behalf and signs the form along with their child and appears at the event with their child. Publishers, galleries, agents, and collectors are welcome to submit artwork on behalf of artists provided that a signed letter of consent from the original artist is included. All artists who win an award will have a press release sent to the artist’s local newspaper(s) unless the artist requests otherwise.
Artist Presence
All Artists must be present during 60% of the posted hours of the Art Exhibition, which are April 13th and 14th, 2012.
Fine Art Multiples
Only hand signed, limited edition and numbered reproductions of artworks are permitted. Artists must provide a definition of "limited edition" through their Artist Statement displayed in their booth. Limited editions may not exceed 450. We require that original art occupies more than 50% of the applicant's booth. In the case of printmakers and photographers this means framed work of gallery quality. Offset reproductions are not permitted.
Layout/Operations
Each exhibitor must provide a setup to accommodate a 10’x10’ square space unless they have purchased a larger, double or corner booth size.
Terms
We assume the right to photograph or video an accepted work for promotional purposes only, unless requested otherwise.
