- When you think of 'love' what comes to mind?
- When I think of "love", I think of a father's love for his son. My screenplay, "Winged Victory", is based on true events in the lives of my father and his father, who died unexpectedly in a private plane crash but whose spirit survived to usher his son into manhood. On a personal note, my father, who had fortunately read my script about him, died unexpectedly on November 2, 2011, but his love and remarkable life still inspires me today.

- Yes, my script submission, Winged Victory, Withoutabox Tracking ID: 12-198, was notified of acceptance. Logline: Following his heroic father's untimely death, an aimless boy consigned to military school finds inspiration when his father's wartime journal sparks his ascension into manhood. This story is based on true events.

Winged Victory by Blue Spruell
Winged Victory is based on true events in the lives of my father and grandfather, so it’s naturally a story that’s close to my heart. It’s a story about courage, not simply the courage of the Greatest Generation that fought and won World War II, or even the courage of a small-town physician capable of heroic feats like delivering the baby of a gunshot victim with a jackknife, but more the courage of a young boy who must grow up without a father.
