Dewitt and Maria - Dewitt Fullbean is a work-a-holic. Some days he lives at the office, quite literally, if and when he's back at his apartment he's exhiled in the cucoon it represents. Of course, it's tough to be a hermit when you live in an apartment building. Dewitt continually crosses paths with a woman he hasn't got the confidence to meet. He sees her at the mailboxes, in the trash room; each time he sees her he stares at her whistfully, and each of these occasions give her more and more reason to believe he's stalking her. Instead of doing nothing about this Dewitt combines his home life with work life yet again. He works to harness the power of computer gaming software to try and teach himself how to get this girl. But life has another lesson for him.
